US trucking and freight / Managed BPO
Freight track and trace for US after-hours operations
Actigy BPO tracks assigned US freight after booking. We verify pickups, delays and delivery status in your transportation management system, send agreed customer updates and hand open loads back to your day shift. Each open load has a last verified event, next check time and escalation contact.
Agree the scope, access and reviewer before a paid pilot.

Which updates will the desk make?
We use your TMS, approved tracking feeds and carrier contacts. The agreed update cadence can vary by customer, shipment risk and proximity to pickup or delivery. Each update records its source, timestamp and the next check.
- Check pickup arrival, loading, departure, transit, delivery arrival and final proof of delivery against the expected milestones.
- Distinguish a tracking signal, a carrier-confirmed arrival and a signed delivery record. Record the last verified status when they conflict.
- Send approved customer updates, follow up on missing documents and assign exceptions to your operations lead.
Worked example
What happens when tracking goes silent overnight?
A GPS feed last updated at 10:15 p.m. Mountain, and a delivery is due at 6 a.m. Pacific. The desk records the last signal, checks the appointment's local time and contacts the authorized carrier dispatcher. If the ETA cannot be confirmed, the customer update states what is known and when the next check is due. The on-call lead receives time-sensitive exceptions under your escalation rules.

What will the morning shift see?
The handover lists open loads, last verified milestones, revised ETAs and sources, customer notification times, next checks and owners. A delivery reported by dispatch and a signed proof of delivery (POD) are separate statuses. Send confirmed delivery with a missing POD to the documentation queue. Escalate a refusal, shortage or damage directly to the client’s operations or claims contact.

How should an after-hours pilot be staffed?
Define the coverage window in a named US time zone, average and peak active loads, update frequency and the decision-maker on call. Run a paid shift pilot and compare records with the daytime team's own status log.
- Track required milestones updated by the agreed time and exceptions escalated within the agreed response window.
- Count unresolved loads at handoff and unreadable or missing proof-of-delivery documents.
- Use the result to scope night, weekend or extended coverage with an explicit backup and shift overlap.
Before the first live queue
Bring the inputs that shape your scope
The proposal should identify what can be assigned, who can decide, and how you will accept the work. Start with one representative queue; agree any expansion after reviewing the pilot.
Define the workload
Loads per shift, tracking tools and appointment time zones.
Agree the controls
Contact permissions, alert triggers and the on-call escalation ladder.
Review the right measures
Verified updates, stale signals and follow-ups completed on time.
Before you decide
Buyer questions
Clarify the work, access and approval boundaries before assigning a team.
Can our broker or carrier keep its existing tracking software?
Yes. We can work in your approved TMS and tracking tools with the permissions you authorize. Agree which system owns the official update and who can see customer or driver information.
Do you make check calls when a driver is on the road?
We use your approved tracking feed and carrier dispatch contact first. Where driver contact is authorized, we follow safe contact procedures and do not ask anyone to text, use a handheld device or complete paperwork while driving.
Can you dispatch a replacement truck or settle a freight claim?
Your carrier, broker or claims owner makes those decisions. The tracking desk documents the exception, shares the verified facts and routes the issue to the authorized person.
Can you take only an evening or weekend shift?
Yes. Share active load counts, customer update commitments, holiday coverage and the required handoff time. We scope the shift and escalation route before quoting coverage.
What must the day shift receive from an overnight tracking desk?
For each open load, hand over the latest source checked, last verified event, unresolved contact attempt, next callback time and receiving owner. Make time-sensitive exceptions visible. The day team should be able to continue the open work without mistaking an estimated event for a confirmed milestone.
