Sanctions alert investigation support for escalated matches

Actigy BPO prepares unresolved sanctions alerts for the person authorized to decide them. An analyst compares identifiers against your approved sources. A second reviewer checks the evidence before the file reaches your sanctions officer or other designated owner.

Agree the scope, access and reviewer before a paid pilot.

Which alerts belong in this queue?

Start with cases your initial screening team could not resolve, such as a name shared by several people, an alias that appears under different spellings or a company record with incomplete ownership information. Define the alert types, approved sources and required identifiers in writing. Route time-sensitive cases directly to your named on-call owner.

What reaches the authorized decision-maker?

The case file identifies the alert and list entry, when each approved source was checked, which identifiers agree or conflict, what evidence is missing and why the case remains open. A reviewer who did not prepare the file checks it against your written criteria. Your team records the disposition and handles any account restriction, release, filing or external communication.

  • Match record.Cite the list entry and version checked, the alert source, matching identifiers and conflicting details.
  • Example. The name and alias match, but the dates of birth differ. The analyst records both sources and escalates the unresolved match under your instructions.
  • Handoff.Identify missing evidence, reviewer corrections, escalation time and the client contact responsible for disposition.

How do we test review quality before assigning a live queue?

Choose a small representative sample through an approved secure channel. Include ambiguous names, incomplete records and urgent escalations. Agree a reference decision set with the client owner. Compare reviewer agreement, missing-evidence rate, time from assignment to complete handoff and cases returned for correction. Set acceptance thresholds before production access.

How is capacity priced?

Share monthly escalated alert volume, languages, estimated handling time, staffed hours and availability of your decision-maker. Specify the depth and independence of the second review. The quote separates case preparation, review, training and coverage.

What does your compliance team retain?

Your institution supplies the screening system and lists, sets thresholds and escalation rules, approves access and decides the disposition of every case in this pilot. Actigy’s review is operational quality assurance. Independent assurance, legal interpretation, regulatory reporting and decisions on payment holds remain with your designated owners.

Before the first live queue

Bring the inputs that shape your scope

The proposal should identify what can be assigned, who can decide, and how you will accept the work. Start with one representative queue; agree any expansion after reviewing the pilot.

  1. Define the workload

Alert sources, list version and customer population.

  2. Agree the controls

Which cases require independent review or urgent escalation.

  3. Review the right measures

Reviewer corrections and unresolved evidence, alongside handling time.

Before you decide

Buyer questions

Clarify the work, access and approval boundaries before assigning a team.

Can we outsource reviews without delegating sanctions decisions?

Yes. The proposed scope ends when a checked evidence pack reaches your authorized owner. Your institution records the final disposition, including whether further action is required.

Can Actigy tune our screening rules or replace our screening platform?

The pilot uses your existing platform, list sources and thresholds. Your screening owner decides changes to the rules. Analysts record evidence and escalate unresolved matches in your system.

Can an EU-only team handle a restricted queue?

Specify approved delivery countries, systems, access conditions and hours before pilot scoping. Actigy assesses staffing against those restrictions and records the agreed arrangements before any live access.

What should we share when requesting a proposal?

Send aggregate case volume, languages, coverage hours, the share escalated from initial screening and the type of client reviewer available. Keep names, account details and case documents out of the contact form.

What if the screening evidence changes while an alert is being reviewed?

Preserve the original alert and the time it was generated. Record when each source was checked, identify the revised information and show which earlier comparison it affects. Your designated reviewer decides how that change affects disposition. Updating evidence must not silently replace the original review trail.

Discuss an escalated alert queue

Share the approximate number and age of unresolved alerts, the required review hours and the role that decides the outcome. Do not include identifiers or case files.
